pixels, food & wood

Found on Flickr by the trusty folks at DesignYouTrust is Diego "Karramarro" Sanz's pixel works. These actually made my jaw drop. What a reminder that we no longer live in a 3-D world. We are completely surrounded by pixels and they are our reality (whether they are in our computer or GameBoy monitor or printed out life-size! (Source)

I don't know who Anna is, but she is a crafty girl. She must also be a big Wall-E fan, because she produced two amazing pieces: in a bento box and out of wood! The Wall-E bento looks absolutely delicious. She even created little meat boxes to resemble the garbage cubes Wall-E makes! The wooden version is just nothing but astounding. It is immaculate and so detailed. Too detailed! I would love to make one of these for my little sister. The wooden figure is a little out of my league; I think the bento box will do! (Source)

have your cake and eat it too

I'm not a big fan of cakes. I don't even eat cakes for my own birthday. But after seeing these photos, boy, do I ever want cake! For flickr user fsumaria, cake is synonymous in camera. Why do I say that? Her husband got her a custom-made cake baked in the shape of a Nikon D700. It is so delicious looking that it would suffice for the real thing. But nope, her husband followed that up and bought her the real thing! Damn, woman! Lucky! More photos can be seen at her Flickr. (Source)

To follow up with that gorgeous cake, here is a place where you can have some candy and cake. Within the Boca Raton Resort & Club in Florida, you will now find Serendipity. Does that name sound familiar? Yes, it's related to infamous Serendipity 3 in New York City! The interior looks posh and glam, is brighty lit and accented with orange and pink. I can't wait to try this place out! (Source)

Lolo Knits with Marzipan

I don't have much today not only because I'm too busy studying, but also because there isn't anything that's caught my eye aside from some photographs and a video of Lauren, a.k.a. Lolo and her knitted marzipan! Her website veganyumyum.com is full of recipes for the vegans out there (you can try them too even if you're not a vegan!) I need to try this out myself!

Lauren says:
I’ve always enjoyed cooking, and when I went vegan four years ago the kitchen became my favorite room in the house. I love experimenting with all sorts of food. Except for beets. And garlic. And pretty much anything that has been pickled. But hey! We all have our weird preference and dislikes, right?
